About me
From delivering on a bike with no brakes to Senior Full Stack Developer with 5+ years of experience.
I'm Victor Bertram, a Senior Full Stack Developer based in Chapeco, SC, Brazil. I left Venezuela with no money, no Portuguese, and no plan. I started from zero — literally. I slept on the floor, worked as a tire repairman, and did deliveries on a bike with no brakes, chasing any opportunity to keep moving forward.
I woke up at 3am to work at a meatpacking plant and only got home mid-afternoon. At night, while most people rested, I went to class. And when everyone left, I stayed — practicing, failing, learning, and trying again.
At Ecofrigo, still outside of tech, I led over 150 people from different nationalities on the production line. That's where I developed responsibility, resilience, and the ability to solve problems under pressure — skills I use every day as a developer.
I decided to break into tech and start from zero all over again. I completed an intensive Full Stack program (React.js and Node.js) at SENAI/SC, covering React, Node.js, Express, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, and agile methodologies. Out of dozens who started, only a few finished. I was one of them.
While studying, I started taking freelance projects to gain hands-on experience. I didn't wait to be ready — I made it happen. Day after day, building not just code, but a new reality for myself.
Today I have over 5 years of professional experience and work with Node.js, React, TypeScript, .NET, C#, PostgreSQL, and Docker. I've reduced API response times by 60%, optimized SQL queries by 70%, and cut incident resolution time by 40%. Beyond code, I also work with traffic management and digital marketing — this business perspective lets me deliver more complete solutions, not just the system, but the strategy behind it.
I didn't get here by luck or extraordinary talent. I got here because every single time it got hard, I chose to keep going.
Resilience
I immigrated from Venezuela to Brazil and started from zero — no language, no money, no network. I led over 150 people before even entering tech. When something breaks in production or a deadline gets tight, I don't freeze — I breathe, analyze, and solve it. That resilience comes from someone who has restarted their life more than once.
Autonomy
I started taking freelance projects while still in my program at SENAI/SC. I didn't wait for permission or the perfect moment. Today, with over 5 years of experience across 3 companies, it's still the same: I get a demand, understand the context, and make it happen, from discovery to delivery.
Solve for real
I've optimized SQL queries by 70%, reduced API response times by 60%, and migrated 30% of a company's legacy WebServices to .NET Core. For me, the job isn't done when the code compiles — it's done when the end user feels the difference.
Projects
Got a project? I'll make it happen.
I didn't wait for the perfect moment to start my career — and I won't wait to deliver results on your project. If you need someone who actually gets things done, let's talk.
